{"id":7617,"date":"2024-10-15T18:49:55","date_gmt":"2024-10-15T08:49:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.celestialtaichi.com.au\/?p=7617"},"modified":"2026-08-06T16:20:38","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T06:20:38","slug":"2024-10-celestial-performs-at-wtqa-festival-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wrcsites.com.au\/ctc\/2024-10-celestial-performs-at-wtqa-festival-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Celestial performs at WTQA Festival 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2024 Wushu, Tai Chi, Qigong Association (WTQA) Festival was\u00a0held on Saturday 12 October and included performances from 12 martial arts schools.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4681 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.celestialtaichi.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/20241012_132127-WTQA-Yang-1-3-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Attendance at the event was around 230 which included 64 from the Celestial Tai Chi College.\u00a0 There were 24 College students and Instructors who performed 3 items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/6qlgAGe1cew\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Celestial Routine Levels 1-3<\/a> (Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi) &#8230;coached by Senior Instructors Noel and Yvonne Schmidt,<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/FUGoyGmr540\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lohan Qigong<\/a> &#8230;coached by Instructor Christina Goh<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/J5l-mce9Iw8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stick Qigong <\/a>&#8230;coached by Senior Master Chin Min.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4681 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.celestialtaichi.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/20241012_132906-WTQA-Lohan-Qigong-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The performances were very impressive and showed the quality of the training provided at the Celestial College.\u00a0 YouTube videos of these performances can be viewed by selecting the links above.<\/p>\n<p>The Lion Dance performed by the Hung Gar Yau Shu Martial Arts School led the afternoon performances of Tai Chi, Qigong, Kung Fu and Wushu.\u00a0 There was a mass performance of Beijing 24 and Ba Duan Jin Qigong by all attendees which was fun.<\/p>\n<p>The varied program from the meditative Tai Chi and Qigong routines to the athleticism of Wushu and Kung Fu was enjoyed by all those attending.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4681 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.celestialtaichi.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/20241012_1335142-WTQA-QigongStick-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The next WTQA Festival is scheduled to be held on Sunday 5 October 2025, not to be missed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Margaret Rogers<br \/>\nSenior Instructor, Ashburton<br \/>\nWTQA Committee Member<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4681 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.celestialtaichi.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/241012-WTQA-E85_0456.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Updated: 19 November 2024<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2024 Wushu, Tai Chi, Qigong Association (WTQA) Festival was\u00a0held on Saturday 12 October and included performances from 12 martial arts schools.
